Use of sun-ripened fruits

The thornless shrub of the black currant grows to about 1 to 2 metres in height and is found in the wild in damp areas and floodplains, as well as cultivated in gardens. In Central Europe, the ripe berries are harvested from July to August. Blackcurrant is often made into jam, jelly and juice and is used in the perfumery industry as a fruity fragrance essence. Under the French name Cassis, the intense-tasting berry is offered as a liqueur or syrup.

Only sun-ripened fruits are used for Grether's. Harvesting only takes place when the fruits have fully developed their intense aroma and beneficial effects. The berries are then gently picked, handpicked and processed with care and experience.
